Robert Hicks to referee Betfred Super League Grand Final
Robert Hicks has been selected to referee the 2018 Betfred Super League Grand Final between Wigan and Warrington at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 13 (6.00pm).
Hicks’s only previous Grand Final appearance was another Wigan-Warrington showdown in 2016, when the Warriors secured a 12-6 victory over their local rivals.
After taking charge of the 2018 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final between Catalans Dragons and Warrington Wolves, Hicks will join a select group of officials to have refereed both the Challenge Cup final at Wembley and Grand Final at Old Trafford in the same season.
Richard Thompson and Chris Kendall have been appointed touch-judges, with Ben Thaler as video referee. Gareth Hewer has been appointed as reserve referee, with Marcus Griffiths as reserve touch-judge.
