Paul is a retired professional rugby league player. He started his career at Halifax RLFC at the age 0f 15 and in the summer of 1998 he joined the Salford Red Devils where he spent the rest of his career. During his career he was fortunate enough to represent Great Britain at Under 21’s and Academy level and chose Wales as his home nation and represented them in world cups and European cups.
Since retiring from the sport Paul has taken up the role of Squad and welfare manager at the Salford Red Devils where he is privileged to be able to help and support the new era of players with their off field goals and aspirations and ultimately help them create the best opportunity possible for a smooth transition from the sport when that time comes and to help them to be as equally successful in their next chapter as they were in their playing career.
His role with the State of Mind Charity is that of presenter for both the state of mind workshops and Offload programme aimed at raising the awareness of mental health especially in males and to help arm the attendees with tools and techniques along with helping them to gain a better understanding of what people that are struggling with whatever degree of mental ill-health are going through.
“Having experienced my own hardships and problems with my own mental health previously I find my involvement with State of Mind extremely therapeutic and indescribably rewarding to be able to help people and hopefully make a difference to peoples lives and perceptions”
