Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous has responded to critics who have branded his side virtually an Australian team.

The Dragons have four former Kangaroos players in their side in Todd Carney, Willie Mason, Glenn Stewart and David Taylor.

The likes of Garry Schofield have questioned the French club, who also have foreign recruits in the form of NRL grand final winner Pat Ritchards, Justin Horo, Kiwi international Krisnan Inu, Papua New Guinean international Paul Aiton and Louis Anderson.

Frayssinous replied to the recent criticism after the match.

“After the first few rounds there was a lot of people starting to criticize us,” he told Sky. “So now I know people start talking about a Kangaroos team or whatever. But we are the Catalans Dragons team.

“French, English, New Zealander, Australian, we gel together and we want to turn out for each other every week, which is the most important thing.”

“We know we’ve got a good team.”
