North Wales Crusaders are pleased to confirm a partnership with State Of Mind Sport for the 2019 season.

State Of Mind Sport is a charity that harnesses the power of sport to promote positive mental health among sportsmen and women, fans and wider communities, and ultimately to prevent suicide.

Talking about the partnership, Dr. Phil Cooper MBE said: “State of Mind Sport are absolutely delighted to be a partner with North Wales Crusaders for the 2019 season.”

“There were 360 deaths by suicide in Wales in 2017, almost one person per day, and anything State of Mind Sport and the club can do to try to change one person’s mind about taking their own life would be a massive success story.

“We will be delivering mental fitness sessions for the players in different squads in the club and for local rugby clubs throughout 2019.

“Having our logo on the first team’s playing shorts, training and match day gear will provide great exposure to remind people of the importance of mental fitness alongside their physical fitness”

North Wales Crusaders CEO Andy Moulsdale added: “State Of Mind have done a fantastic job over the last few years in raising awareness of mental health in rugby league and beyond.

“We really want to get into the community and raise awareness of mental health issues and help as many people as we can.

“This is a partnership which I believe can make a real difference to peoples lives beyond rugby league.”
