Wakefield Trinity Wildcats star Richard Mathers has joined the Forty-20 Yorkshire Men’s League committee.

The full-back has already attended a couple of league meetings and spoke at the recent launch for the 2013 season. “I was honoured to be approached and delighted to accept a role on the management committee,” said Mathers.

“The role is in-part ambassadorial. I will help to publicise the league, speak for it whenever I can and try to raise awareness for some clubs that do any absolutely superb and vital job in their communities.” State of Mind are very happy to help publicise the league and any other Rugby League Competitions across the country.

I have never forgotten what East Leeds did for me as a kid and if I can start to repay that now, then that is reason enough to be involved. But that’s not all, I want to put over the professional perspective and take their concerns and issues back to see if we can help”

I also see it as part of my further development and skill acquisition for roles when the playing side does, inevitably, come to an end.”
