A SPORTS club has partnered with a prostate cancer charity and the Warrington Wolves Foundation to become a ‘Wellbeing Hub’ for the community.

Burtonwood ARLFC have teamed up with the ‘patient led’ charity, Prostate Cancer Support, in a bid to raise awareness for early detection of prostate cancer.

The Wolves Foundation has extended an invitation to Burtonwood ARLFC, making it the official Wellbeing Hub for the Warrington community.

The club’s first event, set for Saturday, May 31, will be a special fundraising day at Burtonwood Community Centre.

Here, men will have the opportunity to take a simple PSA blood test, which is vital for the early detection of prostate cancer as it enables prompt treatment and better outcomes.

Prostate cancer affects thousands each year, but early detection can save lives.

Attendance at the event will contribute to supporting vital research and services.

The charity has been assisting communities and patients for over 20 years.

Primarily run by volunteers, the organisation is committed to running on minimal costs, ensuring resources are directly used to benefit prostate cancer patients and their families.
