Chris Leatherbarrow passed away in 2015
Chris was a devoted dad and a Super League referee shortly before his death, which was met with shock and sadness in the rugby league community. His memory is being maintained through the community referee support projects that are being delivered by State of Mind to support match officials’ mental health and wellbeing, where a film completed with Chris’s family and friends has been used as part of the sessions. Today marks the start of Men’s Mental Health Month.
State of Mind Sport have pioneered a virtual reality rugby league referee experience to improve the treatment and understanding of how difficult it is to be a rugby league referee.
