The world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, recently took time out of his training schedule at Brunel University to speak to RL Cares ‘Engage with your club’ administrator and former speedster Sean Mellor.

The Jamaican sprinter, who won Olympic Gold in the 100m and 200m events at both the London 20102 and Beijing 2008 Games told Mellor he “was a big fan of Rugby League having watched the sport whilst in Australia” but was unable to accept an invitation to the recent Tetley’s Challenge Cup final due to his training commitments.

The superstar sprinter was training at the University, which was also housing players, officials and administrators for the recent Champion Schools Finals and he also took time out to speak to players from Barrow-based Dowdales School who were competing in the Champion Schools competition.
