Rugby League will be represented for the second time in three years at the prestigious Radio Academy Awards in London next month, as 102.4 Wish FM and 107.2 Wire FM’s Rugby League show Gerr’um On Side has been nominated for Best Sports Programme.

Gerr’um On Side is one of five nominees up for the award, and will go head-to-head with the biggest names in sports broadcasting for the top honour on May 12 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Each weekend throughout 2013 the show previewed games involving their local teams, with presenters Chris Milow (St Helens), Louisa King (Warrington Wolves), Mark Wilson (Wigan Warriors) and Roy Basnett (Widnes Vikings) fighting their club’s corner.Wish and Wire FM

In addition, the show went ‘on tour’ visiting each club during the season and recording special programmes with live audience interaction.

Producer Chris Milow said: “We loved doing the show and it was great that so many of our top Super League players were willing to give up their time to be part of it. We’ve got some tough competition for the award, but getting a nomination is an incredible honour.”

State of Mind would like to wish Wish FM and Wire FM all the very best for the awards, well done!!!!
