CEO of League 13 Ernie Benbow and State of Mind’s Dr. Phil Cooper were recognised for their work promoting positive mental health among Super League players
The pair instigated a survey amongst Super League players in the League 13 Super League Players Association that highlighted the pressures full time players experience
The main concerns highlighted playing and family pressures, stress and anxiety and financial issues www.leaguethirteen.co.uk/
The survey has led to further developments in Super League clubs to further advance the cause of player welfare
The recognition came from the 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust www.5boroughspartnership.nhs.uk/following the publication of the survey results in a national mental health nursing journal (The British Journal of Mental health Nursing)
