The Assura Grant Funding in association with the Rugby League World Cup referee support project continued yesterday via zoom with the Midlands / London and South West Rugby League Referees societies joining a session
Due to being unable to complete the session face to face the session was arranged by Anthony Creasey amd Mike Smaill from the Rugby Football League
The session was really well received and this is one of the comments from the session received this morning
Thank you so much for presenting last night – as someone who is self-aware when it comes to my mental health, I found it incredibly useful (and in fact was quite emotional at the end as it was so nice to know that there was someone out there looking out for us officials!). I’d be very much interested in undertaking the training to become a Mental Health First Aider, could you please advise the next steps for this.
State of Mind Sport are grateful to the Rugby League World Cup Assura Grant Funding to be able to complete the session and continue to break down the stigma of mental health in this group who can often be marginalised in sport
