The players from Bold Miners FC and Bold FC have been telling us their priorities for the mental fitness project

Dr Phil Cooper RMN, MBE was in the dressing room pre-match to talk to the players about the project and demonstrating a quick controlled breathing technique with more to follow based on the priorities identified by players below. In a dominant performance, Bold Miners secured their third win in four games, beating local rivals Redgate 6-0 and climbing to 6th in the table. This emphatic victory was marked by standout performances and strategic changes that paid off handsomely. The picture shows keeper Paul Strickland saving a second half penalty to keep a clean sheet

We asked the players what areas of their mental fitness they would like to improve?

25 players responded with the following results in order of preference in a top five league table

1. Managing stress / anxiety (14)
2. Positive mindset (13)
3. Self-confidence (12)
4. Self-belief (11)

These are the top five areas we will focus our training sessions on and we are excited to continue the work throughout the season.
