State of Mind twitter ambassador Ben Cockayne gives his thoughts on the Million Pound Game ahead of Saturday’s meeting between Hull KR and Salford Red Devils.
Today’s Million Pound Game is the biggest match of the season, despite it being a game neither side wants to be involved with.
Ben Cockayne: You’re in a play-off game where the outcome is rubbish. Whether we win, lose or draw on Saturday, I’m not going to be celebrating because there are a group of people who are going to be seriously affected by the outcome of it.
If we go on and win the game, which we’re confident we can do, there is nothing to celebrate because there are a group of people who you respect and have played against numerous times in the season, who could be out of a job.
If it was to happen to us and we lose, you’re going to be wondering what’s happening next.
I’d love nothing more to get this game won and get the season as a whole put to bed and hopefully we can look towards a successful few years under Tim Sheens.
Cockayne has made over 200 appearances during his two spells at Hull KR and State of Mind would like to profusely thank Ben for his support over the past few years in tweeting mental health support messages during the build up to the State of Mind round. This has meant that messages with other player shave reached over 7 million potential recipients in 2016.
State of Mind would like to wish all the players, coaches and staff all the best whatever happens today
