Frank-Paul Nuuausala overwhelmed by the welcome he has received at Wigan
New Zealand international excited to make Warriors debut “I am just honoured to be here. It’s a Rugby League club with a lot of history and it is a proud Rugby League town.”
Wigan’s newest signing Frank-Paul Nuuausala today admitted he was ‘overwhelmed’ by the welcome he has received at Wigan.
The New Zealand Test prop landed in the country yesterday (Monday) afternoon and started training with his new teammates this morning.
Speaking to the press for the first time since his arrival, the former Canberra player said: “I feel a bit tired from the flight but I’m overwhelmed by the hospitality that Wigan have shown to me.
“I am just honoured to be here. It’s a Rugby League club with a lot of history and it is a proud Rugby League town. I hope to be accepted by the Wigan people and hopefully I will get to wear the jersey this weekend (against Leeds).”
Asked if he had seen much of Wigan, he said:
“I’ve not had much chance to look around the town yet. I have only been to the hotel where I’m staying, but from the first look, it looks a bit like Coronation Street. All of the houses look the same!
“I am just trying to find my feet at the moment and trying to get rid of the jet lag.”
“I feel like the new kid in school at the minute but once I get used to the players, the club and the town then I will be fine.”
