History to be made in Warrington next weekend.

First-ever Physical Disability Rugby League game to take place in Warrington

On Sunday, February 4, Warrington will host the very first competitive fixture for Physical Disability Rugby League at Victoria Park’s Asics Stadium.
Adam Hills
The Wolves will host the Rhinos as both club Foundations are behind the development of the game.

Adam Hills, Australian comedian and presenter of The Last Leg, has been behind PDRL from the start and will play for the Wolves whilst his co-presenter Alex Brooker will be supporting the Rhinos.

Physical Disability Rugby League is a modified version of the game.

PDRL has been played in Australia for over six years and it is hoped that an exhibition match will be played in Australia at the Olympic Stadium before a South Sydney Rabbitohs game later this year.

Adam Hills, a lifelong Rabbitohs fan behind this vision will be torn on who he plays for after training and playing here with the Wolves PDRL team but a dream of one day pulling on the Green and Red of the Sydney based team.

One player who will be wearing the Wolves colours this weekend is Jason Elkaleh.

Jason, who attended the 2018 Season Launch Event in Huddersfield this week, started his journey with the Wolves Foundation back in 2005 when he performed the Haka with Lymm High school prior to the England vs New Zealand friendly.

Since then, Jason has worked within the Foundation and also as a video analyst with the performance team at junior levels with the club.

Also joining the Wolves team are former England international Shaun Briscoe, who now works at the Foundation and former Wire ace Toe Koe Love, as each team are supported by two able bodied players.

The game will kick off at 1pm with entry to the game a donation to the development of the team.
