What do this year’s Man of Steel, Warrington Wolves’ Player of the Year and a 2013 Lance Todd Trophy winner have in common? They’ve all signed up to take part in Movember.
Zak Hardaker, Chris Hill and Matty Smith have joined The Mo’s of St George and will grow a moustache from the start of November until the end of the month for charity. Fans attending the International Series games against New Zealand will see the players sporting a variety of styles on their top lip.
The Movember Foundation runs the annual moustache growing event during the month of November to help raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as depression, prostate cancer and more. Movember are aiming to make a global contribution to men living happier, healthier, longer lives.
Hardaker, who was crowned Man of Steel in 2015, said: “It’s a fantastic charity aiming to make a difference to men’s health and the way we look after ourselves,” said the 24-year-old.
“Some of the other boys had to spin the Movember Roulette wheel which decided which style of moustache we would grow. I ended up with the ‘After Eight’ which is quite a smart one to grow luckily for me!
“We’ve joined the Mo’s of St George and I hope lots of other England fans do the same this Movember to help raise money for this worthwhile cause.”
Jon Sim, Head of Fundraising for Movember UK added: “We’re looking forward to seeing the boys’ mo’s grow during these huge internationals against the Kiwis and hope the Rugby League community backs them by signing up to The Mo’s of St George.”
