England scrum-half Richie Myler is to leave Warrington Wolves for Catalans Dragons at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old Myler is out of contract with the Wolves and looks set to make way for the arrival of Australian Chris Sandow.
Myler, who has signed a two-year deal, will link up with his former Warrington team-mate Michael Monaghan, the Dragons’ assistant coach, and becomes the club’s second high-profile recruit for 2016 in 48 hours following the signing of former Wigan Warriors winger Pat Richards.
Catalans head coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “I’m delighted to sign Richie for the next two seasons.
“The club has shown its ambition with the capture of such a quality player.
“His skills, speed, eye for a gap and his experience give him the potential to be one the best players in his position.”
Myler, who won the first of his seven caps for England against France in 2009, became the most expensive teenager in rugby league history when he joined Warrington on a four-year deal for a reputed £200,000 six years ago.
The former Widnes Vikings and Salford Red Devils player has made 141 Super League appearances so far, scoring 87 tries, and won two Challenge Cup winners medals with the Wolves.
Myler said: “It’s a really exciting time to be joining the Catalans Dragons.
“I’m looking forward to playing my part with such an ambitious club and embracing the French culture with my family.”
Warrington head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “I’d like to thank Rich for the fantastic service he’s given over the last six years.
“We wish him and his family all the best for their new venture and thank him for everything he’s done along the way for Warrington.
“It is a great opportunity for Rich to further his career and benefit from a different experience.”
