James Nixon the prolific winger from Barrow Raiders will retire from the game
James has been playing for Barrow for many years and was due a testimonial next year. He has called time on his career due to family and work committments.
State of Mind are very aware that part-time rugby league carries many pressures juggling family, work and playing and training.
A recent survey of Super League players with League 13 Players Association also revealed that playing and family pressures was a major priority for full time players.
Nixon is 27 and is seventh on the club’s all time try scoring chart with 137 tries in 175 games, a pretty impressive strike rate.
Coach darren Holt said “He has been brilliant for this club and at times a joy to watch with great pace.”
