State of Mind have been invited to deliver their award winning session to the Oldham St. Anne’s Rugby League club tonight
As a proactive amateur rugby league club and one of the best in the country at showing initiative. We have organised for the guys from State Of Mind to come down to our club and give a presentation to us all. For those of you who don’t know much about State Of Mind, here is a little overview –
The State of Mind programme was established in 2011 with the aim of improving the mental health, wellbeing and working life of rugby league players and communities. We want to get people talking about it. Our team of mental health and sport professionals deliver comprehensive education sessions at no cost throughout the UK in super league, championship and amateur clubs as well as colleges and community groups, aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues within sport.
Although this event would be beneficial to every team within the club, we are targeting the following teams – 1st Team, 2nd Team, U18’s, U16’s, U15’s, U14’s and U13’s. However all the clubs coaches, touchlines managers, CRB registered volunteers and parents from all age groups are more than welcome to attend. This really is a fantastic opportunity for us as a club to bring an understanding to a lot of our younger players about mental health and wellbeing and the important part it plays in our daily lives.
We need to ensure that this event is extremely well supported by us all, there will be several posters being put up around the club over the next few weeks. Former players Danny Sculthorpe, and Will Stringer will be presenting the session
