London Broncos Rugby League have launched a brand new home shirt which will be worn during the 2015 season.
The first team squad launched the shirt with a team photo in the shadow of Tower Bridge in the heart of London.
The shirt celebrates 35 years of the club’s existence which began life as Fulham Football Club in 1980. The shirt takes its design directly from the original Fulham RL shirt with a striking white chevron and a black shirt body, with glimpses of red. While there were clubs in London as far back as the 1930s it wasn’t until 1980 that Fulham Rugby League launched out of Fulham Football Club. The club carried the name from (1980-1991) before London Crusaders (1991-1994), and the original London Broncos (1994-2005), Harlequins RL (2006-2011) before returning to London Broncos in 2012.
Towergate Insurance were announced earlier today as main club sponsor and feature on the front of the shirt, while Corporate Traveller and OSTC FX feature on the rear of the shirt. Centennial Medical Care sits opposite the club logo with Rugby League Cares logo below. Village Urban Resorts and Footprints Foundation feature on one sleeve while the other features competition title sponsors Kingstone Press. Gibson Shipping Energy features below the shirt collar. EC3D – High performance compression gear and Nutrition X feature on the shorts.
“As a club we are keen to remember our heritage and mark the 35 anniversary with a special shirt,” said London Broncos media and marketing manager Steve Devonshire.
“We are sure that supporters will like the new shirt and will join us in reminiscing about our past whilst also looking to the future.
“We chose to launch the shirt at Tower Bridge in central London since this great city is virtually on our doorstep, we wanted to showcase the Broncos and rugby league the best we could to supporters, press, tourists and the people of London.”
The shirt goes on sale in January 2015 ahead of the new season.
