Saints super fan to cycles for 52 hours for chariies

Here is why one avid rugby league fan has set himself a challenge, to re-watch every Saints match from last season, whilst riding his turbo bike. Kev Cunningham has decided to take on the challenge to raise funds for three charities – State of Mind Sport, The Steve Prescott Foundation and Willowbrook Hospice.

The total amount of time this challenge equates to is 52 hours in total and he has recorded his average speed at 17.5mph, if he completed the whole challenge at this speed, it would total to 910 miles.

Kev Raised over £3000 for the three charities https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Kev-Cunningham-cycling-challenge?utm_term=jNK9jKJXK

Kev has decided to do this after he himself was suffering with his mental health in 2023, and decided he needed to give himself a focus for the year ahead.

He had fantastic support from his employers and his family which really helped change his mindset.

Although there are sometimes triggers along the way, he is in a much better place physically and mentally than this time last year, and is well on his way to reaching his target.

He chose three charities that are all close to his heart to dedicate his fundraising to his friend Billy who spent his last hours at Willowbrook Hospice.

Kev said: “The Willowbrook staff were calm, compassionate, kind, extremely caring and supportive of Billy and his loved ones during the most traumatic time of their lives.”

Kev is so passionate about supporting these causes because he wants to help raise the profiles of these organisations who provides support to people in need.

Kev added: “It’s okay to not be okay. Men get sad too, if my story can inspire and encourage just one person to reach out, to talk, to seek help and to find a way of escaping depression, then that’s worth more than an amount of money that I can ever raise.”

Willowbrook Hospice added: “We would like to thank Kev for all that he has done to raise awareness of his chosen charities, we are really grateful he has chosen to support our hospice and we look forward to hearing when his challenge has been completed.”

State of Mind Sport are humbled and honoured to have been chosen as part of the immense fundraising effort completed by Kev, so, so grateful. Thank you!!!!
