The tournament held in Milton Keynes recently showcased the talent available
Full time at Milton Keynes with England and Scotland finishing with a stalemate as both teams score 7 a piece. What a great inaugural X-League: Limited Contact Rugby League international test it was!
Well done to all those involved in the international as well as the tournament in which Scotland Tartans won in an all Scotland final against the Thistles as they competed against the likes of West Oxfordshire Levellers RLFC and Brighton and Hove Rugby League.
The International fixture was a stand alone game prior to the festival and it was a closely fought contest between two very quick and skillful sides.
Bath RL player Matt Warnock opened up the scoring for Scotland Rugby League early on. Jake Morris spotted a lack of numbers out wide in the Scotland defence and sent in Ben Bright for England. The game ended in a draw with the standout performance from the Scots coming from Paul Hodgson who ran some great lines throughout.
The Scotland squad was split into two sides (the Tartans and the Thistles) for the festival. The West Oxfordshire Levellers ran the Thistles close in the semi finals losing out by a try and the Tartans managed to overcome a spirited Brighton and Hove Rugby League side in the second semi final.
The two Scotland sides then met in the final and in another close battle the Tartans side ran out winners.
