State of Mind are struggling who to support tonight when the Rugger in the ring event takes place at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton in support of Joining Jack
Eight former rugby league legends will fight for the title of ‘Rugby League Fight Champion 2013’ on Wednesday 27 February 2013 at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
The event will see the likes of St Helens legend Paul ‘The Saint’ Sculthorpe MBE, Leeds legend Keith ‘The Chief’ Senior, boxing regular and former Hull Captain Lee ‘Raging Bull’ Radford and Wigan ‘Team of the Decade’ player Mick ‘Butch’ Cassidy fight for the grand prize of £10,000.
The fighters will be drawn at random in a Prizefighter concept and will face three fights to win the money and be crowned ‘Rugby League Fight Champion 2013’ – the hardest in rugby league.
Co-organised by Rugger in the Ring and St Helen’s legend Sean Long, the evening will be raising money for Joining Jack, a charity dedicated to funding research and development for Duchenne Muscular Disorder (DMD).
Paul Sculthorpe helps to deliver the State of Mind training session in clubs currently (see Scully in the picture at Orrel St. James) and Ian Sibbit starred in the most recent State of Mind film (See the picture below). The competition follows the prize fighter format with 8 fighters taking part in three round contests leading up to a final bout for the winners.
State of Mind would like wish both fighters all the very best for tonight and would encourage as many people as possible to get to the event to support the charity. Doors open at 6:30pm at the Reebok
