State of Mind would like to congratulate Sergeant Al Boyle from the Mercian Regiment on receiving an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list 2025

Professional, courageous and fiercely proud of our regiment, Mercians are highly regarded throughout the British Army and we are regularly called upon for operations both in peacetime and during armed conflict.https://www.army.mod.uk/learn-and-explore/about-the-army/corps-regiments-and-units/infantry/mercian-regiment/

Al has been a massive rugby league fan supporting Warrington Wolves and organising the Armed Forces Day celebrations and the Tom Sephton Trophy that takes place annually at Crosfields Rugby League Club in Warrington.

The Tom Sephton Trophy started as a charity match to raise money in memory of Private Tom Sephton (pictured below) but it has grown into one of the biggest amateur rugby league events in Britain. The Tom Sephton Memorial Trophy has been held every year at Crosfields Rugby League Club to raise money for armed forces charities in memory of the Warrington soldier who was killed while serving in Afghanistan.

State of Mind have been honoured to be involved in the celebrations on a number of occasion and are grateful to Al for inviting our charity to be involved.
