Six Teams including Sharlston Rovers will be appearing in the BARLA National Cup final in Blackpool this weekend
The men and women come to the fore as part of the Fylde Fiesta the BARLA National Cup Finals this weekend which endorses BARLA’s ethos of ‘Sport4All’.
The BARLA National Cup Final sponsored by Ace European Group Ltd when Sharlston Rovers play Wibsey Warriors kick off 2.30pm at Fylde Ruby Union Club, The Woodlands Memorial Ground, Lytham St Annes this weekend Saturday the 15th. State of Mind delivered the award winning State of Mind session at Sharlston Rovers earlier this year and you may see them warming up in their State of Mind tee-shirts before the big game. On Sunday 16th June the final game of the proceedings is the Xamax WRLA County State of Origin 3 takes place when Lancashire Ladies play Yorkshire Ladies at 4.00pm.
The BARLA National Cup Final sponsored by Ace European Group Ltd will see previous winners Sharlston Rovers and favourites appearing in their third final in three years, anxious to go one better than last year when they finished runners up.
Having won every available trophy up for grabs for them this season they will see this prestigious trophy as the final crowning glory for them this season.
For Wibsey Warriors though who were only formed eight years ago this will be their first appearance in the BARLA National Cup Final and first chance to write their name on the cup which like BARLA is celebrating its ‘Ruby Anniversary of 40yrs.
They will go into the final as underdogs but will be looking to put a spanner in the works.
Prior to this game at ‘High Noon ‘the BARLA Xamax Under 18’s National Cup Final see’s Leigh East play Thatto Heath Crusaders.
On Sunday 16th June the final game of the proceedings is the Xamax WRLA County State of Origin 3 takes place when Lancashire Ladies play Yorkshire Ladies. This see’s the best women’s players from the long standing WRLA ‘Winter’ League from both counties come together for this ‘War of the Roses’ and also a name sponsor Xamax supporting the clash after witnessing it first hand last year and more than impressed with the skills on show by both sides.
To date Lancashire hold a 2-0 lead in the series and will want to keep up their unbeaten run. For Yorkshire though they will have different ideas and will be going all out to register their opening win in the series and cut the lead to one.
Prior to this game at ‘High Noon ‘the BARLA Xamax Under 14’s National Cup Final see’s Hunslet Warriors play Wigan St Patricks and at 2.00pm East Hull clash with Stanningley.
On what should be a great occasion of great rugby league skills both in attack and defence by all participants admission on each day is £6 adults £3 concessions
