State of Mind were invited to present to the House of Commons Health Select Committee alongside Everton in the Community at Everton’s Goodison Park

The Health Select Committee were visiting the North West to liaise with examples of good practice around suicide prevention and the Cheshire and Merseyside (Champs) Public Health Collaborative is an outcome focused model that delivers a number of local priorities (see What we do).

Health Select Committee

These priorities have been agreed by us in partnership with Public Health England North West and NHS England Cheshire & Merseyside.

The priorities are:

•high blood pressure
•mental health and wellbeing of children and young people
•suicide prevention

The Committee left with a positive vie of the fantastic work that is taking place in the North West and State of MInd were extremely grateful for the opportunity to showcase our work. It was great to catch up with old friends Dr. Martin Lawlor from State of Mind Ireland and Professor Andy Smith from Edge Hill University
