Huddersfield Giants have received a close-season boost with the retention of strong-running second row forward Ukuma Ta’ai.
The 29-year-old Tonga international, who has become a fans’ favourite since joining the Giants from New Zealand Warriors in 2013, has signed a new two-year contract.
“I am so excited that the club has given me the opportunity to stay,” said Ta’ai, who was one of only three ever-presents for Huddersfield in 2016.
“I love Huddersfield. It’s a small town, but the fans are fantastic and I am excited to be given the chance to stay here for another two years.
“Since (coach) Rick (Stone) has been here, he has been great for us and I’m looking forward to pre-season so we can achieve more next season.”
