Castleford Tigers have rewarded utility back Jordan Tansey for an impressive start to the season with a two-year contract extension.
The former Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC player, who was given a 12-month deal when he was signed from Championship club York City Knights last year, has been one of the Tigers’ better players so far this season.
“Jordan had been out of Super League for 12 months so he had a point to prove and we gave him the opportunity to do that,” said coach Ian Millward.
State of Mind delivered a session at York City Knights when Jordan had just arrived and Jimmy Gittins made his State of Mind debut and we would like to wish Jordan all the very best in his Castleford career!
“He had an incentive-based contract and he’s ticked all the boxes on and off the field. He’s an absolute joy to coach.”
Tansey, 22, who had a brief spell in Australia with Sydney Roosters, said: “I think Cas are going places.
“The team Basil’s putting together is pretty good. We’re not picking up the wins at the minute but it’s only early in the season and hopefully we can start getting those wins and try and make the play-offs which is our main goal for this season.”
