Salford Red Devils have taken up their option to make Wigan Warriors hooker Logan Tomkins’ move to the AJ Bell Stadium a permanent one.

The youngest of the Tomkins brothers joined the Red Devils for a second loan spell in June and made 15 appearances.

Now he has signed a 12-month contract to remain with Salford for 2016, ruling out a reunion with brother Sam, who has returned to Wigan from a two-year stint in the NRL with New Zealand Warriors.

Logan and Sam appeared alongside oldest brother Joel for the Warriors once in a pre-season friendly but have not lined up together in First Utility Super League.

A Salford spokesman said: “The Red Devils are delighted to confirm that Logan Tomkins has signed a one-year contract that will see him stay with the club until the end of the 2016 season.”
