State of Mind Sport’s recent challenge of walking from Headingley stadium to Old Trafford for the Super League Grand Final has raised an amazing amount of money for the Leeds Hospitals Charity MND Centre
25 intrepid souls began to walk on Friday 11th October at 1pm at Headingley stadium where Rob Burrow graced the hallowed turf. The walkers from a range of backgrounds and areas across the country got together through the night to get to Old Trafford.
The gruelling trip up and over the Pennines was a small sacrifice compared to the difficulties faces by people with Motor Neurone Disease every day.
The walkers raised £14,000 shared between The Leeds Hospitals Charity’s funding for the Rob Burrow MND centre and State of Mind Sport. A massive thank you to all the walkers, supporters, everyone who donated and sponsored the event.
State of Mind Trustee Dr. Phil Cooper and State of Mind presenter, former rugby league player and coach who organised the event Jo Phillips are picture handing over the £7035 funds at Leeds St James Hospital earlier this week.
