State of Mind took over round 25 in Super League this weekend and what a response we have had from people at games across the country and across the world of media
Last Wednesday Sky Sports Boots’N’All featured former players delivering education sessions in clubs and talking to former players
Sky Sports fantastic Thursday and Friday night live coverage of the games where the State of Mind logo featured in the match day graphics for Sky on Friday and the great piece by Brian Carney with Harry Pinner was outstanding
BBC Producer Andy Smythe was outside the Warrington game on Thursday to explore footage for a future documentary highlighting the work of State of Mind and BBC Look North broadcasting live from our Marquee on Friday outside the Leeds Rhinos South Stand was a massive boost as well as a superb piece using Booby Goulding as part of the broadcast
Being in London and meeting many people from London Rugby League, players from Catalan Dragons and Wigan Warriors warming up in our t-shirts and then on to Wakefield with the Marquee with Jimmy Gittins and getting a great view of the game! Our massive thanks go to all our volunteers who took time out of their lives to support us in Warrington, Leeds, London, Catalan, Wakefield and Castleford without your support we would not have been able to get our message across to as many people.
The players who have been tweeting our messages on a daily basis for three weeks Leon Pryce, Mickey Higham,, Luke Dorn, Mikey Bishay, Shaun Briscoe, Paul Wellens, Chev Walker, Kevin Brown and Wayne Godwin and countless other players have managed to tweet and retweet our mental fitness messages to 4,017,278 potential followers a massive potential reach!
To Eorl Crabtree for leading our promotional film with Adrian Morley, Mickey Higham, Paul Wood, Martin Gleeson, Paul Wellens, Jon Wilkin, Terry O’Connor, Jimmy Gittins, Ste McCann and the Haresfinch ARLFC players.
The RFL (Emma Rosewarne) have been absolutely magnificent in supporting round 25 activities and as have all the clubs who have made the job as easy as possible. Rugby League Cares and Chris Rostron and Terry Flanagan for their outstanding support to allow the round to happen.
Rhino balls for providing our logo on the match balls used at Warrington and Leeds which will be able to auction off at a future date!
Ernie Benbow and League 13 for their excellent partnership work in contacting players on our behalf, Mocha TV for filming and turning around the film in less than two weeks and Simon Howes from CALM in guiding the messages. The 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for allowing Phil Cooper Nurse Consultant to be actively involved in supporting the round 25 activities. Steven Broomhead for chairing the State of Mind programme board and James in getting access to areas not accessed before and guaranteed superb publicity
A massive thanks to Malcolm Rae for his leadership throughout the run up to Round 25
The weekend saw the whole State of Mind Rugby League Family get together and to be part of that has been a humbling experience!
Fans have been telling us their own stories, taking our mental fitness cards and car stickers and people have asked for help and been guided to the right support which makes being part of the State of Mind Family a life saving project
Thank you to all you and so onward into 2013 and 2014 at a club near you
