State of Mind would like to congratulate Tim Adams and Mike Stephenson on their New Year Honours

Tim Adams, who was awarded an MBE for services to Rugby League and Horseracing, was a Director of Rugby League’s Super League Competition following the restructuring of the game in the late nineties and was Chairman of Sheffield Eagles when they won the Challenge Cup in 1998. More recently he has worked tirelessly as Chairman of the RFL’s Benevolent Fund since its inception and has helped to raise millions for both Rugby League and Horse Racing charities.

Mike ‘Stevo’ Stephenson, who was awarded an MBE for services to Rugby League and Sports Broadcasting, represented his home town club Dewsbury over 250 times and scored a try in the World Cup Final as Great Britain beat Australia to become World Champions in 1972. Following his retirement from playing he went on to spearhead Sky Sports Rugby League commentary alongside friend and colleague Eddie Hemmings for 26 years, retiring in October this year.
