Kevin started playing rugby in St Helens and was signed by Wigan Warriors at the age of 15.

He became a first team regular after making his debut in the memorable Good Friday victory over St Helens in 2003, and played with Wigan until the end of the 2007 season, playing in the challenge cup final along the way.
Kevin went on loan to the Huddersfield Giants In late 2006 and penned a five year contract on his way to becoming the captain of the club. After having 6 successful seasons with the claret and golds, in 2012 Widnes bought Kevin for an undisclosed fee to bring him back home to be closer with his family.

After two fantastic years as vice captain and fans favourite, Brown was given the honour of captain for the 2015 season, until his departure at the end of 2016 where once again he was bought by arch rivals the Warrington wolves. He had 3 years playing in numerous finals before leaving for the Salford Red Devils in 2020.

To date Kevin has played 11 times for his new club, with a challenge cup final appearance after upsetting the odds to reach the show piece event. Kevin started playing for England in 2010 and made his debut against France. He was also a part of England’s Four Nations campaign later in the year. Kevin toured New Zealand again in 2016 playing in the four nations once again. After a few years out of the national team, Wayne Bennett called him up for his first squad and Kevin impressed, holding down his position to help England reach their first World Cup final in over 50 years. Kevin retired after the world cup final to prolong his club career.
