ISC reveal revolutionary new England Rugby League World Cup 2013 Jersey
International sportswear brand ISC Sport (ISC) launched the revolutionary new England Rugby League World Cup 2013 Jersey today (October 1), which the England team will wear as they bid to win the tournament on home soil this autumn. ISC has pioneered the development of the strongest and lightest on-field player fabric ever called ‘Feather’. The ISC product development team drew on the collective expertise of the automotive and military industries to deliver the high performance technology. The new material is a hybrid derived from polyester and the high tenacity fibres used in seatbelt webbing. ISC believes Feather, which is 35% lighter than the previous fabric, will revolutionise the apparel industry’s development of on-field gear. The new lightweight on-field kit features anti-grab neck design, moisture management, silicon grip and a GPS pocket. The garment is treated with anti-stain technology developed by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).
The new super fabric was trialled under wraps in an official NRL match last season in Australia. During this time, the fabric also underwent testing by RMIT University, which found the material to have higher burst strength than any existing on-field player fabrics.
Commenting on the ground breaking new England jersey ISC CEO Brett Corrick said;
“This is by far the most advanced technological development in the history of ISC. Traditionally, only thicker and heavier fabrics have been able to offer the strength and security required for the rigours of high contact sport but now ISC’s Feather provides these assets in the form of a lightweight stretch material.
“It has been an honour to design and produce the new ISC England RL kit, to develop a new kit is always a special feeling, but to know it will be used at Rugby League World Cup 2013, especially on their home soil is extra special for ISC”.
The new ISC England RLWC2013 jersey is a mid-weight polyester pique with micro eyelets on the interior face to draw heat away and promote an overall cooling of the body. The ultra-soft handle helps make this the most comfortable fabric for watching England.
ISC Sport General Manager UK Dan Drew said ‘We have striped back the jersey to its core tradition with very subtle design details to enhance what is already a beautiful jersey , importantly the jersey carries the St. Georges cross on the chest and defines what it means to play for England.
