Simon Barber CEO of 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust won the Coach of the Year award at the NHS North West Leadership Academy receiving his award from Ben Cohen former England Rugby Union winner

Simon has been a key supporter of State of Mind from its launch in 2011 allowing Dr. Phil Cooper one of the co-founders and Nurse Consultant in the Trust to develop the multi-award winning campaign.

After Simon completed a coaching programme with the NW Leadership Academy he quickly appreciated the power of coaching and the impact coaching could have on enhancing the high performance culture in our Trust.Barber Wins NW Leadership Academy Coach of the Year

“I’m honoured to be considered for the award; thanks to my Board colleague Tracy Hill for nominating me. It’s fantastic that the Academy recognises the role of coaching in leadership.”

Simon’s aim was to encourage more of a coaching style in our day-to-day interactions.
