BBC Today programme economics editor Simon Jack’s father took his own life when he was 44. Now the same age, Simon investigates the circumstances around his dad’s death and why more middle-aged men kill themselves than any other group.

He met with men (Danny Sculthorpe and Ian Knott) who have overcome suicidal thoughts, including professional sportsmen, who are now trying to help others do the same.untitled (19)

The recent Boot Room project which showed re-runs of classic rugby league games was piloted by Dr. Phil Cooper (5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) in Warrington alongside Bank Quay Bulls Rugby League, Warrington Wolves and Warrington Boroughs Council (19 minutes in to the programme)
