Chris Leatherbarrow passed away in 2015

Chris was a devoted dad and a Super League referee shortly before his death which was met with shock and sadness in the rugby league community. His memory is being maintained through the community referee support projects that are being delivered by State of Mind to support match official’s mental health and wellbeing where a film completed with family and friends is being used as part of the sessions.

State of Mind Sport have been pioneering a virtual reality rugby league referee experience to improve the treatment and understanding of how difficult it is to be a rugby league referee and you can click on the link below to see the content used and we have been taking virtual reality headsets out to rugby league events and launched this at Magic Weekend in 2022
