The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have signed half-back Jarrod Sammut from Bradford Bulls.

The Bulls granted Sammut’s request for a release from the remainder of his contract at the Provident Stadium and the Maltese international has penned a two-year deal with the Wildcats. Sammut, who has scored 45 tries in 70 Super League appearances since making his debut for Crusaders at the 2010 Magic Weekend at Murrayfield, is the ninth new addition to the Trinity ranks for 2014.

Wildcats Chairman, Michael Carter, commented: “We recently got into dialogue with the Bulls regarding Jarrod and we’re pleased to have reached a conclusion that is mutually beneficial for all parties. “We look forward to welcoming Jarrod to the club and all associated with the Bulls to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium next week for our home opener.”

A spokesperson for the Bulls added: “We entered into negotiations with the Wakefield Wildcats and have come away with all parties agreeing a happy resolution.
