Former Bradford Bulls Psychiatrist Dr Allan Johnson has asked State of Mind to present the award winning State of Mind session at the conference that will be taking place at the Centre for Research & Development, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Kingsway Site, Derby, DE22 3LZB2zmV9wIYAAO7dJ

You are invited to join Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for our Suicide Prevention Conference, where we will be aiming to:

• Inspire, motivate and enthuse clinical staff in suicide prevention work
• Demonstrate how the principles are applicable to day to day clinical practice.
• To Launch the Connecting with People risk assessment training for our clinical staff following its successful pilot
• To engage the wider Derbyshire Health and Social Care community in Suicide prevention work.

The event will be chaired by Dr Allan Johnston, consultant Psychiatrist, Chair of Suicide Prevention Strategy Group, and Steve Edgeley, Deputy Chief Nurse / Head of Effectiveness.

Keynote speakers will include:Nick Powell Mind Media Awards

• Malcolm Rae OBE (Pictured Right with Nick Powell Sky Sports News at the recent MIND Media Awards)- who has recently retired as the Joint Strategic Lead for the Acute Care Programme of The National Mental Health Development Unit. He remains as an advisor to the NMHDU, NPSA and CQC on the Prevention and Management of Suicide, Violence and other safety issues along with innovative approaches to undertaking SUI’s.
• Steve Morgan, Mersey Care NHS – who will focus on the Detroit zero tolerance model for Suicide Prevention.
• The State of Mind Rugby Players – an organisation that aims to raise awareness of matters of mental fitness and overall wellbeing
• Keith Waters – Mental Health Liaison Team Clinical Lead Nurse and Connecting with People Master trainer and Honorary Research Fellow
