VGC Group following staff nominations have appointed State of Mind Sport as the 2019 Corporate Charity Partner
The partnership will help raise awareness of mental wellbeing issues among our staff. State of Mind Sport deliver mental fitness and suicide prevention training and the partnership will support VGC’s wellbeing strategy.
VGC staff will help raise funds so that State of Mind Sport can continue to deliver information sessions across communities across the UK, especially in under represented groups. State of Mind Sport is funded through donations and our support will ensure that they can deliver to as many hard to reach groups as possible.

VGC Group provide people and deliver projects to the construction and rail industries. Our divisions operate in all types of civil engineering environments, including roads and bridges, airports, nuclear facilities, utilities, and mainline and underground rail. VGC Group are one of the largest labour and staff suppliers to the UK’s construction and rail companies, and we also undertake rail and construction contracts.
Clara Pryce, group services director said “Suicide is the biggest killer of young men under the age of 50, and workers in the construction industry are at the highest risk of suicide. We have partnered with State of Mind to help embed the message to our workforce that they are not alone. There are people who will listen to you and support you.”
NIck Rowe, State of Mind Sport Operations Director said “We want to share our knowledge of mental fitness and suicide prevention with VGC’s workforce. We also wish to learn from a significant player in the construction and rail industry to develop our education programmes across the sector.”
Fiona Dowling, VGC’s wellbeing champion and Swati Patel, CSR manager are preparing a programme of events for 2019 including a wellbeing week, mental health first aid training and fundraising events at all our offices across the UK
